Where to eat in Baler

Since i started going back and forth in Baler, i am so lucky to be able to experience different restaurants on my every visit, which made me decide to make a compilation of Places to eat in Baler featuring their dish/dishes that really caught my taste buds.
1. Bay's Inn/Hungry Surfer (Click the link for the related post about Bay's Inn)
Best tasting Tapa Flakes in Baler

One of the best tasting tapa flakes I've tasted can be found in Bay's Inn. Fine, crispy strips that is really good especially paired with fried rice and fried egg. What makes it more special? You can enjoy the morning breeze and the view of the sea while you eat. You can also sit on the uncovered part of the restaurant to feel the sun's warmth on your skin.

My Favorite: Tapsilog
Budget: PHP 200 Below
Location: Sabang, Beach front

2. Angela's Cafe (Click the link for the related post about Angela's Cafe)
Fresh Pugon cooked Pizza

If you wanted to go Italian, you might want to consider eating at Angelas. It's just a small restaurant located at T. Molina street. I really liked their Pizza because they cook it differently, their pizza is baked and served fresh from Pugon - the traditional way.
 Angelas
My Favorite: Pepperoni Pizza and Baked macaroni
Budget: PHP 200 Below

3. El teodoro
Budget friendly Silogs (fried rice and egg)

However, if you are on a tight budget you can go to El teodoro, they offer very affordable silogs and other home cooked meals. The place is small and open but do not underestimate them because the taste of their food is competitive too.

My Favorite: Tapsilog
Budget: PHP 100 Below
Location: At the back of Bayler View

4. Kusina Luntian
Paco Salad especial

I know you already heard about the famous Paco salad in baler. If you really want to try it, you should go to this place. A tip of advise do not go here if you are "Palas na Palas" (Baleryano term for Very hungry) because they cook your food upon ordering meaning, you have to wait for 30 minutes or more, this place is perfect for patient people but once your food is served you'll realize that it's worth the wait. I really liked their Paco salad because of its crisps and sweet taste, you can even hear yourself while eating it! haha.
Famous Paco Salad serve with Salted egg and Tomatoes
Wapang Wapang na liempo and Adooy Chicken Adobo
a good chat with surf friends while waiting for your order is priceless then once food is served - Galit Galit muna

My Favorite: Adoooy Chicken Adobo and Paco Salad.
Budget: PHP 150 Below
Location: Alley 1

5. Costa Pacifica Raintree
Lifestyle

If you don't mind spending too much on food, this is the best place to eat. Costa Pacifica is owned by the Angara and they serve different kinds of food. What i like the most on this place is the ambiance, Mayamanin kung baga (Rich), their food is a bit expensive but you will get what you paid for. My favorite dish on this place is their Kilawin (Raw seafood or meat dish cooked in Vinegar, similar to ceviche)
Kilawin
My Favorite: Kilawin and Paco Pizza
Budget: PHP 500 Below
Location: Sabang, Beach front

6.Baler Surfer grill
Peace kotseng Kuba lovers

What makes this place unique? They grill their dish on Old school Volkswagen Beetles. I've never seen a place like this in my entire life. They serve Bulalo in a different way because they grill it. FYI: Those beetles are still working because i saw them at the public market when they are buying for supplies.
My Favorite: Bulalo BBQ. Budget: PHP 200 Below
Location: Sabang, Beach front

7. Bayler View
All time Favorite! Kare Kareng gulay with Bagnet.

Bayler view was probably my favorite restaurant in Baler, aside from their friendly servers, i really love their Kare Kareng gulay with Bagnet, it taste like as if i am eating my mom's Kare Kare. Its sweet and you can even taste the peanut butter which is perfectly paired with their Bagoong (Shrimp paste)
They already extended the place so you will no longer see this
House blend Iced tea
Boneless Crispy Pata
Calamares and Kare Kareng Gulay with Bagnet

Kare Kare and Grilled ribs
Buffalo wings, Tokwa't Baboy and Binagoongan rice

My Favorite: Kare Kareng Gulay with Bagnet
Budget: PHP 250 Below
Location: Sabang, Beach front

8. Shane's Eatery - Rolling store
Turo Turo at its finest.

Tipid hits to the highest level, they offer very affordable meals. The owner is nice too - she even remembers me everytime we go there.

Budget: PHP 60 Below
Location: Rolling store, beside Museo de Baler

9. The Shack by Old Parola
Indian cuisine

If you want to eat authentic Indian dishes, this is the perfect place to eat.
My Favorite: Curry
Budget: PHP 200 Below
Location: Sabang, Beach front

10. Gerry Shan's place (Click the link for the related post about Gerry Shan's place)
Buffet

Want to go heavy yet budget friendly place? this one is the best place to go. Their rate is surprisingly affordable compared to other buffets in baler. This is a Must try in Baler!

Budget: PHP 200 Below
Location: Purok 4 Sabang beach Baler and Quezon st. Baler

11.Yellow Fin / P. Moreno Lodge(Click the link for the related post about Yellow fin's bar)
Barbecue

If you love grilled food especially Barbecue, try eating at Yellow fin's bar and grill.
They have budget friendly menu yet still really good. You can also stay at their bar and have two bottles after a very tiring surf session. If you wanted a night life this is a good place to visit.

Budget: PHP 150 Below
Location: At the back of Bay's Inn.

12. Dialyn's Bakeshop

Happy ending *Desserts

Now after indulging yourself with food I think you deserve a happy ending. By happy ending means treat your life with a little sweetness.

I love their chocolate cake. You can also try their Dulce De Leche and Brazo De mercedes - best sellers.

If you visit Baler, make sure to put this on your list ;)

Live to Feel experience | Feb 21 2015

Being part of the Live to feel movement was not really in my plan but i saw that the Roxy girls  (Bea Vega, Kage Gozun) are giving away Roxy and Quiksilver goodies for their top 10 favorite portraits so i tried my luck and i created a portrait on their site.

Here is my Live To Feel portrait

By the way you may also view the gallery on that link. It was Friday afternoon when i saw Bea Vega's post and fortunately i was one of the top 10.. yoohoo!!

So after a long and stressful shift at the office, i arrived home, change my clothes then went straight to Eastwood Mall activity area.
OOTD: Air walk slip on shoes, random shorts, random spaghetti straps sando paired with a random Vest
When we arrived at the area there were already posted portraits on the wooden cubes they personally arranged for the event. It is well organized, Kudos to whoever person behind this movement - it is really fruitful.

I registered then they asked me to go back after 30 minutes to claim my photo. My name flashed on the LCD and that's my cue

Claim stub
I thought it's just a small photo but when i inserted the claim stub on the printing booth tadaaa! it was a big tarp, when i say big it is a 3 x 4 feet tarpaulin! I guess i caught everyone's attention because all their cameras are now pointing towards me, i was so nervous at the same time stoked so i still managed to smile (i am hoping i look good on the photos though).

After all the picture and video taking they asked me where do i want to post my photo, one of them suggested to put it on top in the middle i agreed without any second thought because it was a good spot, i climbed the stairs while they follow me, well honestly, i felt like a VIP lol, maybe because i was one of the first to arrived on the location. They gave me something i could step on because the wooden cube is a little high, they also asked me to pose afterwards. I almost fell because i was euphoric, wanna know why? because that was the biggest portrait i had in my entire life! hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin ako makamove on, feeling artista at sikat ako - lol

That's me over there! wearing that purple bonnet
A shaka from the metro
Yes, I was the first one! :)
Few minutes later - One of the ambassador came, OMG! it was Daniel Matsunaga! I picked up my undie on the ground (lol kidding). He's so nice and handsome. Below are my most #laglagpantymoments

This is the photo where Daniel M photobombed me!
Followed by Daniel M. are the Roxy gals: Bea Vega, Tamara Benitez, Kage Gozun and Brei Cabrera.
The girls are busy setting up their booth

While the roxy girls are busy setting up their booth Laureen UY and Martine Cajucom arrived to deliver an inspirational speech about pursuing your dreams and following your passion.

So after that the Roxy girls started to call out names of the winners - i claimed it and of course i can't go home without photos with them.
Yay! I am proud to announce that i was one of the @roxyph girls but for a day only.. Still stoked for having these awesome and beautiful Wahine!! lol
With the other winners
Few hours later - Marcelo Santos III came and gave books with autograph. Too bad i was not able to see Bianca Gonzales and Chef Jayps because i was really tired and sleepy so i called it a day.

What i did on the event

Indo board - it was my first time but it isn't that bad right? Bea was helping me to balance.

I doodled - on the spot - another first! I was so nervous and shaking but i really have to do it for me to be able to get a free shirt from Team Manila (yes! i really wanted it that bad) but my artwork didn't look so bad i guess.

Prizes from Roxy girl Bea Vega

Seeing my portrait up there really makes me happy, It feels like my existence do really matter and i am important. Kudos to the organizer of this fruitful event because I've learned a lot from it.

Yay!!! View from below
I guess the purpose of the movement is to give a wake up call to the young generation to keep on chasing their passion and do what they truly love even if others will not understand and may stand against it but what matters the most is you are happy!! In my case, i strongly believe that i was not born to stay in one place, my heart is meant to be broken and pieces of it will be left on all the wonderful places I've been to. I am born to explore, to know, to understand, to learn and to discover what lies ahead.

All my life i was trying so hard to please everyone around me but as i age i realized that being liked by pretending to be someone will never turn out good because time will come that you will have to show your real self. What happens when being fake, people around you will be happy but you will never be. You know what i did to surpass that stage of my life? I gradually showed them the real me, some judged me, some left but some stayed. Piece of advise i can give to the young people like me - i wanted you to be yourself, no pretensions, being fake is not cool. As early as now, never, ever be afraid for being who you are.

What I've learned

Live to share without expecting something in return
Live to thrill without hesitations
Live to appreciate small things
Live to explore without fear of being lost
Live to create beautiful things
Live to connect without judging
Live to inspire and never perspire (i mean never stop inspiring others)
Live to discover awesome things
Live to love unconditionally
Live to believe without doubts
Live to express and be heard
Live to imagine great things
Live to immerse in life changing events
Live to sense both tangible and intangible things

What the adult world taught me

Siguro nagtataka ka why i started this post using my native language.. To answer that, ang hirap kaya mag English! Sa lahat ng post ko ilang blood bag at ilang tissue rolls ang inubos ko para lang makapag sulat ng straight English so i've decided to start writing tagalog-english post so the person who'll read it out loud will sound like a conyo and para medyo sesyal.. (Say "sosyal" with arte para maporma).
